Employment Solicitor

Service Care Solutions is delighted to support the Scottish Government in recruiting a talented Employment Lawyer to join their Legal Directorate. This is a rare and high-impact opportunity to work at the heart of government, providing expert legal advice across complex and sensitive areas of employment law.

About the Role As a qualified solicitor, you will work within a specialist employment law team, offering high-quality legal advice to Ministers, officials, and wider government clients.
Your work will involve:

• Analysing complex employment law issues and providing clear, actionable legal advice
• Assessing legal risk and making recommendations to mitigate and manage that risk
• Supporting litigation and advising across a broad range of people-management matters
• Collaborating closely with policy, legal, and operational colleagues across government

What You’ll Bring
✔ Qualified solicitor
✔ Strong employment law and litigation experience
✔ Ability to conduct rigorous legal analysis using multiple information sources
✔ Proven track record of delivering high-quality legal advice in complex areas
✔ Excellent written and verbal communication skills
✔ Strong teamworking approach and proactive client support

Working Arrangements

• Hybrid working with some office attendance
• Base location: Victoria Quay (Edinburgh) or Atlantic Quay (Glasgow)
• Occasional travel for meetings

Hybrid | Edinburgh (Victoria Quay) or Glasgow (Atlantic Quay)
Grade C1 Equivalent
6 month Contract with 6 month extension if required
💰 From £60,010 (flexible depending on candidate) LTD :£  314.90  PAYE (INC):£267.31
