A client within the Public Sector based in Cheshire is currently recruiting for a Estates Surveyor to join their Estates Team as soon as possible. The client is offering a full time, temporary position on an ongoing basis with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority within a property and estates management environment.

The Role
Key purpose of the role:
To assist the Property Services Manager in progressing major and complex property transactions, delivering cost-effective, timely and high-quality property advice, valuations and professional estates management services to Cheshire East Council. The post holder will also support and mentor junior surveyors within the team.

Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
• Providing estate management input and professional advice on major and complex property transactions including acquisitions, disposals, leases and development projects
• Undertaking complex property valuations in accordance with RICS Red Book standards
• Negotiating high value leases, licences, acquisitions and disposals to secure best value outcomes
• Advising on asset reviews, development appraisals and regeneration schemes
• Supervising, coaching and mentoring junior surveyors and technical staff

The Candidate
To be considered for this role you will require:
• A degree in Estates Management, Property or a related discipline
• MRICS qualification (or equivalent professional accreditation)
• Extensive post-qualification experience in public sector property valuation and estate management
The below skills would be beneficial for the role:
• In-depth knowledge of landlord and tenant legislation, CPO processes and Section 123 agreements
• Strong understanding of property development and regeneration markets (residential, commercial and industrial)
• Experience supervising and mentoring professional or technical staff
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex reports to a wide range of stakeholders
• Strong IT skills including Microsoft Office and GIS/property management systems

The client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such are offering £27 per hour Umbrella LTD Inside IR35 (approx. £20 per hour PAYE).
