A client within the Public Sector based in South Yorkshire is currently recruiting for a Site Manager (Museums) to join their Heritage Team as soon as possible. The client is offering a full-time, temporary position on an ongoing basis, with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority museum or heritage environment.

The key purpose of the role is to manage the day-to-day operation of a museum venue, leading the on-site team and ensuring a safe, welcoming environment while delivering a high-quality visitor experience.

The Role
The key purpose of the role is to manage the day-to-day operation of a museum venue, leading the on-site team and ensuring a safe, welcoming environment while delivering a high-quality visitor experience.
Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Managing the operational day-to-day running of the museum site to ensure safety, accessibility, and excellent customer service
- Line managing and developing a small, multi-disciplinary on-site team
- Acting as the main point of contact for tenants, contractors, suppliers, and neighbouring stakeholders
- Ensuring compliance with Health & Safety legislation and overseeing repairs and maintenance issues
- Monitoring and reporting performance data including visitor numbers, income, and donations
To be considered for this role, you will require the following essential qualifications:
- Level 2 qualification (or equivalent)
- IOSH Managing Safely qualification or willingness to undertake training
- Experience in a supervisory or site management role within a museum, heritage attraction, or similar environment
- Strong customer service and stakeholder management experience
- Practical, hands-on approach with the ability to manage operational issues
- Good working knowledge of ICT systems
- Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills
