We are currently recruiting for an experienced Family Contact Worker to join a busy Children & Families Contact Service in Manchester.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who understands the importance of safe, meaningful family contact and can build positive relationships with children, parents and professionals.

? About the Role As a Family Contact Worker, you will facilitate, supervise and observe contact between children and their parents or family members.

You will play an important role in ensuring contact takes place safely and in line with agreed plans, whilst providing appropriate support and guidance to children and families.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Facilitating and supervising family contact sessions.
  • Observing and assessing supervised contact visits.
  • Supporting children and parents throughout the contact process.
  • Setting up and coordinating contact arrangements.
  • Identifying and responding appropriately to behavioural and emotional issues.
  • Contributing to assessments of children and families where appropriate.
  • Maintaining accurate and detailed contact records.
  • Monitoring agreed action plans and raising any concerns with the appropriate professionals.
  • Working closely with Social Workers and the wider professional network.
  • Ensuring the child's welfare and best interests remain at the centre of your work.
  • Contributing to the ongoing assessment of children who may be in need or at risk of harm.
? What We're Looking For We're looking for someone who has experience working with children and families and understands the importance of safeguarding and child protection.

You should have:

? Experience working with children, young people and/or families.
? A good understanding of child development.
? An understanding of child protection procedures and safeguarding principles.
? An understanding of how family contact contributes to the assessment of children and families.
? Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
? Excellent organisation and time-management skills.
? The ability to remain calm and professional when dealing with challenging situations.
? Strong written and administrative skills, including accurate record keeping.
? The ability to work effectively as part of a wider professional team.
? A current driving licence and access to a vehicle.
? Willingness to undertake an Enhanced DBS check.
