? About the Role As a Family Practitioner, you’ll use a restorative approach to provide high support and high challenge to children, young people, and their families. Your work will help families stay together, stabilise placements, and build stronger futures.
You will:
- Work directly with children, families, and carers to provide interventions and support.
- Lead early help assessments and family plans, collaborating with social workers.
- Facilitate and organise family meetings, parenting support, mediation, and conflict resolution.
- Deliver creative and flexible support, including evenings and weekends when needed.
- Keep clear and accurate records and reports to ensure the best outcomes for children.
- NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in working with children and families.
- Experience of direct work with children, families, and carers in a statutory or voluntary setting.
- Strong knowledge of child development and the impact of trauma, stress, and vulnerability.
- Understanding of issues such as mental health, substance misuse, domestic abuse, and poverty.
- Confident in using IT systems (including Microsoft packages).
- Excellent communication, relationship-building, and conflict resolution skills.
- A restorative approach to working with families.
- A UK driving licence and access to a car (Essential Car User role).
