? Multiple Family Service Worker Opportunities Available in Cheshire East We are currently recruiting for multiple Family Service Worker positions within a busy Children & Families service in Cheshire East.
This is a fantastic opportunity for experienced childcare and family support professionals who are passionate about improving outcomes for children, young people and their families, particularly those who may have experienced trauma, neglect or challenging circumstances.
As a Family Service Worker, you will work directly with children, young people and families in the community, providing practical and targeted support based around their individual assessed needs.

? Multiple Family Service Worker Opportunities Available in Cheshire East We are currently recruiting for multiple Family Service Worker positions within a busy Children & Families service in Cheshire East.
This is a fantastic opportunity for experienced childcare and family support professionals who are passionate about improving outcomes for children, young people and their families, particularly those who may have experienced trauma, neglect or challenging circumstances.
As a Family Service Worker, you will work directly with children, young people and families in the community, providing practical and targeted support based around their individual assessed needs.
??????? About the Role You will act as a key worker for a small number of children, young people and families, working collaboratively with them and other professionals to identify needs and deliver effective support.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Developing, implementing and reviewing individual care, support and pathway plans
- Providing direct support and interventions to children, young people and families within the community
- Supporting families to improve their functioning, resilience and outcomes
- Contributing to the assessment of children's needs
- Maintaining accurate records and preparing reports to support the care planning process
- Working closely with social workers, parents, carers and other partner agencies
- Supporting children and young people who may present with challenging behaviours
- Developing strong relationships with families and helping them access appropriate community resources
- Supporting children and families affected by trauma, neglect and disadvantage
- Supervising contact where required and undertaking observational work
- Monitoring progress and reviewing the effectiveness of interventions
- Working in an anti-oppressive, child-centred and inclusive manner
You should ideally have:
- NVQ Level 3 or an equivalent recognised Child Care qualification
- Professional experience within a childcare, family support or related setting
- Experience of working directly with children and/or young people
- Experience supporting children or young people who have experienced trauma or neglect
- An understanding of child protection and safeguarding
- An understanding of children's development and the impact of trauma
- Experience of working alongside other agencies, or the willingness and ability to do so
- Confidence working with children and young people who may display challenging behaviours
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- The ability to contribute to assessments, monitoring and report writing
- Strong organisational and record-keeping skills
- A flexible and positive approach to meeting the needs of children and families
- The ability to work effectively as part of a wider professional team
- The ability to travel independently across Cheshire East
