Worcestershire Children First are looking for a Family Support Worker to join their dedicated Children’s Social Care team, supporting families where there is a Child in Need plan or where children are at risk of entering care.

The Role: As a Family Support Worker, you’ll:
- Work directly with children, young people, and their families to promote safety, stability, and positive outcomes.
- Support parents and carers to strengthen their parenting skills and build understanding of child development.
- Provide hands-on support to families where there is a risk of breakdown or where children are on the edge of care.
- Collaborate closely with Social Workers and partner agencies as part of the ‘team around the family’.
- Complete detailed assessments, contribute to planning and review meetings, and maintain accurate written records.
- Work flexibly – including occasional evenings or weekends – to meet the needs of the families you support.
- Proven experience working with children and families, ideally within social care, early help, or community support.
- Strong understanding of child development and safeguarding processes.
- Excellent communication, observation, and report-writing skills.
- The ability to work independently, flexibly, and under pressure.
- A Level 3 qualification (or equivalent experience) in Childcare, Early Years, or Social Care.
- A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle during the working day.
