We are excited to be recruiting Family Support Workers (Child and Family Assessment Workers) to join our newly established Child in Need Pilot team in Darlington. This is a unique opportunity to be part of an innovative approach to supporting vulnerable children and families at a crucial point in their journey.
In this role, you will hold a small, manageable caseload, allowing you to complete high-quality assessments, plans, and reviews that truly make an impact. You will work closely with children and their families to ensure their needs are understood, their voices are heard, and the right support is in place.

What You Will Do
As a Family Support Worker, you will:
- Support a small caseload of children in need
- Complete child-centred assessments, plans, and reviews
- Work collaboratively with families to understand their circumstances and build on their strengths
- Contribute to safety planning, risk reduction, and improved family outcomes
- Work closely with the Team Manager and wider multi-agency partners
- Maintain accurate, timely records in line with service standards
- Provide practical and emotional support to children and families at an early point of need
