About the Role We are currently recruiting for an experienced Family Support Worker to join an Early Family Help service in Trafford.

Working within the Education, Standards, Quality and Performance Directorate, you will play an important role in supporting children, young people, and families through an innovative Early Family Help offer.

The service is committed to delivering the right support at the right time, providing effective early intervention that helps families overcome challenges, build resilience, and achieve positive outcomes.

Key Responsibilities As a Family Support Worker, you will:

• Provide early help support to children, young people, and families through the integrated Family Hub model.
• Act as a key worker for allocated families, supporting with assessment, planning, and coordinated interventions.
• Complete whole-family assessments and provide practical, emotional, and targeted support to improve outcomes.
• Work collaboratively with a range of partner agencies, including:
  • Health Visitors
  • Schools and Early Years providers
  • Housing services
  • Police
  • Community and specialist support services
• Support children and families with emerging developmental differences, including SEND needs.
• Deliver and co-deliver individual and group support programmes for children, young people, and families.
• Assist with the organisation and delivery of family activities, workshops, and support programmes.
• Work alongside parents and carers to promote children’s development, learning, wellbeing, and positive relationships.
• Encourage families to access appropriate services and support within their local communities.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in line with departmental procedures and recording policies.
• Monitor and evaluate the impact of interventions to ensure support is making a positive difference.
• Build strong relationships with families and professionals to promote collaborative working and improved outcomes.

About You We are looking for a caring, proactive, and experienced professional with a background in supporting children, young people, families, or vulnerable adults.

You will ideally have:

? A recognised Level 3 qualification in a relevant subject, or equivalent experience gained through formal training and substantial experience within a similar environment.

Experience within one or more of the following areas would be highly desirable:

• Family Support
• Early Help
• Children’s Services
• Social Care
• Early Years
• Education
• SEND support
• Health or community services

You will have excellent communication skills, the ability to build trusting relationships with families, and a genuine commitment to improving outcomes for children and young people.

Additional Requirements

• Enhanced DBS with Children’s Barred List Check required.
• A valid driving licence and access to transport is required due to borough-wide working.
