Family Time Practitioner – Ipswich (2 Positions Available) Service: Corporate Parenting
Location: Ipswich
Contract: Up to 10 weeks
Hours: Monday–Friday, 37 hours

Opus People Solutions are currently recruiting 2 Family Time Practitioners to support Children’s Services in the Ipswich area.
This is a genuinely rewarding opportunity where you’ll play a vital role in helping children maintain meaningful relationships with their families in a safe and supportive environment.
The Role You’ll be responsible for supervising and facilitating Family Time sessions, ensuring every interaction is safe, positive, and centred around the child’s wellbeing.

The Role You’ll be responsible for supervising and facilitating Family Time sessions, ensuring every interaction is safe, positive, and centred around the child’s wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities
- Safeguard children at all times during Family Time sessions
- Supervise and facilitate sessions in a nurturing, child-focused environment
- Observe family interactions and provide clear, constructive feedback
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of sessions and outcomes
- Work closely with Social Workers and multi-agency professionals
- Deliver sessions across Family Time Centres, Family Hubs, community venues, and homes
- Transport children (including babies) to and from sessions, sometimes across wider areas
- Conduct home visits and provide practical support to families involved in Child in Need or court processes
- Enhanced Children’s DBS
- Full UK Driving Licence with business insurance
- Experience working with children and families within a safeguarding environment
- Make a direct, positive impact on children’s lives
- Short-term contract with immediate start potential
- Varied, community-based role—no two days the same
