The Role As a Family Time Worker, you will:
- Coordinate and facilitate therapeutic family time sessions between children and their parents or wider family members
- Support children and families during sessions, ensuring a safe and positive environment
- Provide practical parenting guidance and encouragement to parents
- Transport children and young people to and from family time sessions where required
- Accurately record observations and produce high-quality reports for court and care planning purposes
- Work flexibly, including evenings and weekends, to meet the needs of families
- A minimum NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in working with children and families
- Experience working directly with children, families, or vulnerable individuals in a statutory or voluntary setting
- A strong understanding of:
- Child development
- The impact of trauma and stress on children
- Safeguarding and relevant children’s legislation
- The ability to:
- Build positive relationships quickly
- Manage challenging or conflict situations confidently
- Communicate effectively with both children and adults
- Produce clear, professional written reports
- A commitment to restorative approaches when working with families
- A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
- Make a direct and lasting impact on children’s lives
- Support families to rebuild and strengthen relationships
