We’re recruiting for a Family Time Worker to join a dedicated Families and Communities service in Staffordshire. This is a rewarding opportunity to play a key role in facilitating meaningful, safe, and therapeutic contact between children and their families.

You’ll be at the heart of helping families rebuild relationships, supporting children’s emotional wellbeing, and guiding parents to develop stronger, healthier connections.

The Role As a Family Time Worker, you will:

  • Coordinate and facilitate therapeutic family time sessions between children and their parents or wider family members
  • Support children and families during sessions, ensuring a safe and positive environment
  • Provide practical parenting guidance and encouragement to parents
  • Transport children and young people to and from family time sessions where required
  • Accurately record observations and produce high-quality reports for court and care planning purposes
  • Work flexibly, including evenings and weekends, to meet the needs of families
What We’re Looking For To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in working with children and families
  • Experience working directly with children, families, or vulnerable individuals in a statutory or voluntary setting
  • A strong understanding of:
    • Child development
    • The impact of trauma and stress on children
    • Safeguarding and relevant children’s legislation
  • The ability to:
    • Build positive relationships quickly
    • Manage challenging or conflict situations confidently
    • Communicate effectively with both children and adults
    • Produce clear, professional written reports
  • A commitment to restorative approaches when working with families
  • A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
Why This Role? This is more than just a job — it’s an opportunity to:

  • Make a direct and lasting impact on children’s lives
  • Support families to rebuild and strengthen relationships
  • Be part of a service that values ambition, courage, and empowerment
  • Work in a supportive environment where your contribution truly matters
Apply Now If you’re ready to take on a meaningful role where no two days are the same, we’d love to hear from you.
