You'll play a vital role in supporting, observing and facilitating meaningful family time sessions, helping children maintain important relationships while ensuring their safety and wellbeing remains at the heart of everything you do.

The Role As a Family Time Worker, you will be responsible for supervising contact sessions between children, young people and their families, ensuring every session is delivered safely, professionally and in line with individual care plans.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Working alongside Social Workers and multi-agency professionals to ensure effective care planning.
  • Transporting children (and occasionally adults) to and from family time venues where required.
  • Supporting parenting assessments through detailed observation and recording.
  • Attending care planning meetings, statutory reviews and contributing written and verbal reports.
  • Preparing statements for court proceedings and attending court when required.
  • Maintaining accurate electronic case records.
  • Identifying and reporting safeguarding concerns immediately.
  • Contributing to the duty function of the team and promoting the welfare of children at all times.
What We're Looking For We're looking for individuals who have:

  • A Level 3 qualification relevant to children and families or significant experience working within a child and family setting.
  • Previous experience supporting vulnerable children and families.
  • Excellent written communication skills with experience completing detailed observations or reports.
  • A good understanding of safeguarding and child-centred practice.
  • The ability to build positive relationships whilst maintaining professional boundaries.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • A flexible approach to working evenings and occasional Saturdays.
Essential Requirements
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Access to your own vehicle (this is an essential car user post).
  • Ability to work flexibly to meet the needs of the service.
If you're passionate about supporting children and families through some of the most important moments in their lives, we'd love to hear from you.
