Are you an experienced Family Time Worker, Family Support Worker, Residential Support Worker or Children’s Services professional looking for a role where you can make a genuine difference to children and families?

We are currently recruiting for TWO Family Time Workers to join a busy children’s services team in Solihull.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience working with children, young people and families who is confident supporting, observing and supervising family contact and producing high-quality written observations and reports.

The Role As a Family Time Worker, you will be responsible for facilitating and supervising Family Time between children and their parents or significant family members.

You will play an important role in ensuring Family Time is safe, positive and child-centred, while providing support and guidance to parents and contributing valuable observations to the wider social care process.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Supervising and facilitating Family Time between children and their parents/significant family members.
• Observing parent and child interactions and producing accurate, independent written observations and reports.
• Ensuring Family Time is delivered in accordance with the child's care plan and that the child's safety and welfare remain paramount.
• Providing emotional and practical support to children, parents and families.
• Offering parents practical advice, feedback and coaching around positive parenting and child-centred interactions.
• Supporting qualified Social Workers with parenting assessments through the collation and recording of observations.
• Contributing to care planning meetings, Looked After Children reviews and other assessment/planning meetings.
• Supporting the planning and delivery of final/farewell Family Time where required.
• Transporting children, and occasionally adults, to and from Family Time venues when necessary.
• Working closely with Social Workers and other professionals to ensure effective communication and information sharing.
• Identifying and immediately reporting any concerns regarding neglect, injury, safeguarding or a child's welfare.
• Contributing to written statements and, where necessary, attending court proceedings as a witness.
• Maintaining accurate computer-based records in line with relevant policies and procedures.
• Participating in team meetings, supervision and ongoing professional development.
• Contributing to the team's duty function and escalating any concerns regarding actual or potential significant harm without delay.

What We're Looking For The ideal candidate will have:

• Level 3 qualification in Children's Services, Health & Social Care or a related discipline, OR strong relevant experience working within a child and family setting.
• Experience working with children, young people and families.
• Experience of supporting or supervising family contact/family time would be highly desirable.
• The ability to observe interactions objectively and produce clear, accurate written reports.
• A good understanding of safeguarding and the importance of keeping children's welfare at the centre of decision-making.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• The confidence to provide parents with constructive feedback, advice and support.
• The ability to work collaboratively with Social Workers and other professionals.
• A calm, professional and non-judgemental approach.
• The ability to recognise and appropriately escalate safeguarding concerns.

? Essential Car User A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle are essential for this position.

The role involves transporting children or adults to and from Family Time venues where required, and the nature of the service means candidates must be able to travel as part of their duties.

Reasonable adjustments will be considered for disabled applicants where required.

Working Pattern This is a full-time, 37-hour-per-week position.

The service operates flexibly around the needs of children and families, so candidates must be comfortable working later finishes, potentially up to 8pm, and some Saturdays.

The role is primarily based from Willow House, Chelmsley Circle, Chelmsley Wood, B37 5UH, with flexibility required to meet the needs of the service.
