Are you passionate about supporting families and making a real difference in children’s lives? Blackpool Council’s Children’s Services is looking for compassionate, dedicated Family Workers to join our dynamic team within Children’s Social Care and Early Help.
As a Family Worker, you’ll hold a caseload of families and provide practical, hands-on support to help them overcome challenges. Working closely with parents, children, and other agencies, you will assess, plan, and deliver tailored interventions that make a lasting impact.

Are you passionate about supporting families and making a real difference in children’s lives? Blackpool Council’s Children’s Services is looking for compassionate, dedicated Family Workers to join our dynamic team within Children’s Social Care and Early Help.
As a Family Worker, you’ll hold a caseload of families and provide practical, hands-on support to help them overcome challenges. Working closely with parents, children, and other agencies, you will assess, plan, and deliver tailored interventions that make a lasting impact.
What You’ll Do:
- Conduct home visits and direct work with families to achieve positive outcomes
- Undertake whole family assessments, using evidence-based tools to identify risks and strengths
- Co-produce SMART outcome-focused plans with families and partner agencies
- Organise and deliver group work sessions for parents and/or children
- Support supervised contact between children and parents, including transport when required
- Prepare reports for assessments, reviews, and court as needed
- Contribute to the development of the Family Hub model and ensure families’ voices are heard
- Maintain accurate, timely case records in line with practice standards
- Collaborate with colleagues in a supportive, team-focused environment
- Level 3 qualification in Social Care, Health, Education, Childcare, or Community
- Experience working with vulnerable children and families
- Knowledge of safeguarding, child development, and relevant legislation
- Ability to communicate effectively and build professional relationships
- Experience delivering group or family-focused interventions
- Accreditation in evidence-based programmes (parenting, domestic abuse)
- Accreditation in specialist assessment tools (e.g., PAMS, AIM)
- Experience writing court reports
