Finance Business Partner
Location: Lincolnshire Police HQ, Nettleham, Lincoln (Hybrid available after induction)
Contract: Full-time, 37 hours per week (12 month contract)

Lincolnshire Police is seeking a proactive and highly skilled Finance Business Partner to provide strategic financial support across the organisation. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in enabling effective decision-making, supporting senior leaders, and shaping the future of policing services across the county.
You’ll be joining a collaborative and forward-thinking Finance team dedicated to delivering high professional standards in line with the policing Code of Ethics.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as a trusted financial adviser to Senior Leadership Teams across the Force.
- Prepare monthly management reports and work with budget holders to deliver accurate forecast outturns.
- Identify and support corrective actions for budget pressures and overspends.
- Lead financial reviews of revenue and capital budgets, ensuring robust monitoring and challenge.
- Support annual budget development and proactively identify efficiency and cashable savings.
- Deliver training on Finance, Procurement and Contract Regulations to enhance financial competence across departments.
- Provide detailed financial evaluations for new service developments, including affordability, value for money, and DCF techniques.
- Advise on commercial and taxation considerations, particularly VAT and capital projects.
- Ensure month-end activities are completed accurately and on time.
- Contribute to statutory financial statements, including notes to the accounts and outturn analyses.
- Work closely with auditors and internal committees to support transparency and compliance.
Essential skills and experience:
- Confidence working with non-financial managers and presenting complex information clearly.
- Strong analytical and financial modelling skills.
- Excellent Excel skills and experience using financial systems.
- A collaborative, proactive approach with the ability to work to tight deadlines.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and upholding the values of the organisation.
- Full AAT or part-qualified CCAB (ACCA, ICAEW, CIPFA) or CIMA
- Fully qualified CCAB/CIMA accountant with completed practical experience
- Public sector finance experience (local authority, NHS, policing).
- Experience as a Finance Business Partner or Management Accountant.
- Knowledge of IFRS, DCF evaluation techniques, and public sector VAT.
