Job Description
Service Care Solutions are recruiting on behalf of a local authority in London for a Finance Officer to join the Home Ownership team on a temporary basis. The postholder will be required to undertake various financial, administrative and accounting tasks while maintaining data integrity and accuracy.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Investigate any variances and undertake any reconciliations necessary.
  • Analyse transactions and present results in a logical and coherent format.
  • Process payments that do not follow preferred payment process through IBC, including compensations and refunds.
  • Assist with supplier queries and promptly resolve any issues raised.
  • Lead on allocation of unallocated income.
  • Assist in resolving customer finance related queries.
  • Proactively manage and provide financial support to the business.
  • Process journals and undertake other administrative tasks as required.
  • Contribute to and assist in the day-to-day business of Home Ownership as required.
  • Carry out finance-related duties, as directed by the Income and Litigation team manager.
Candidate Criteria
  • Demonstrate an understanding of and commitment to policies in relation to Equal Opportunity, Customer Care and service delivery.
  • Experience working as part of a finance team, and in Accounts Payable and/or Accounts Receivable.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills, with ability to work to standards and deadlines.
  • Ability to work as a team to support and improve financial processes, controls and transactions.
  • Great interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, with colleagues and customers.
  • Proficient in IT, particularly Excel, Word and other Microsoft Office packages.
  • Detailed knowledge of financial services legislation, and awareness of latest governmental/HMRC guidelines.
  • Knowledge of landlord and tenant act, and relevant housing legislation.
  • Ability to liaise professionally at all levels with staff and public.
