Are you detail-oriented, organised, and passionate about helping vulnerable adults? We are working on behalf of West Northamptonshire Council and looking for a Financial Assessment Officer to join their Adult Social Care team.
This is a dynamic role, combining financial expertise, customer service, and collaboration with social care colleagues to support adults in residential and community care settings.

This is a dynamic role, combining financial expertise, customer service, and collaboration with social care colleagues to support adults in residential and community care settings.
What You’ll Do
- Carry out financial assessments and reassessments for adults receiving care, ensuring compliance with the Care Act 2014 and council policy.
- Provide advice and assistance on welfare benefits to maximise income for service users and the Council.
- Work closely with social workers, hospital staff, and service users, often in pressured or sensitive environments.
- Identify, escalate, and respond to safeguarding concerns where necessary.
- Maintain accurate records and case notes in financial and care systems.
- Support service improvements, including new systems, process changes, and staff training.
- Mentor colleagues and contribute to a customer-focused, high-performing team.
- Someone with strong numerical and data skills, confident using Excel and financial systems.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to engage sensitively with vulnerable adults.
- A proactive and adaptable professional, able to balance multiple tasks and work independently.
- Commitment to safeguarding and supporting vulnerable people.
