A client within the Public Sector based in Bristol is currently recruiting for a Fire Safety Engineer to join their Planned Maintenance team as soon as possible.
The client is offering a full-time, temporary position on an ongoing basis, with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority housing or fire safety environment.
The Role
The key purpose of the role is to identify remedial works arising from Fire Risk Assessment (FRA) reports, organise and manage the required works, and liaise with delivery teams to progress FRA actions across housing stock and related assets. You will also provide technical consultancy and ensure compliance with current and future fire safety regulations.
Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
• Developing design drawings, specifications, and schedules of rates.
• Conducting site inspections, surveys, and producing progress reports.
• Raising orders, certifying payments, and maintaining accurate job records.
• Advising on building contracts, forms of agreement, and procurement routes.
• Managing Health & Safety, CDM, and fire safety compliance on-site.
• Ensuring contractor and in-house performance meets required standards.
• Supporting budget monitoring, value-for-money assessments, and reporting.
• Maintaining accurate asset and compliance databases.
The Candidate
To be considered for this role, you will require:
• A degree or HNC/HND in Construction, Building Services, or a related discipline.
• Proven experience in project management of FRA remedial works or similar.
• A valid UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
The below skills would be beneficial for the role:
• Knowledge of current fire safety legislation, CDM, and building regulations.
• Experience working within a local authority housing or property maintenance team.
• Proficiency in project management methodologies such as PRINCE2.
The client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such is offering £31 per hour Umbrella LTD Inside IR35 (approx. £26 per hour PAYE).
