Make a Real Difference to the Lives of Children and Families Service Care Solutions are recruiting for a Fostering Support Worker to join a dedicated and supportive Fostering Team in the Wigan area on a temporary basis.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced childcare professional who is passionate about helping children remain safely within their family network whenever possible. You'll play a vital role supporting Kinship Foster Carers and prospective Special Guardians, helping to provide safe, stable, and nurturing homes for some of the area's most vulnerable children.

Working alongside Social Workers and other professionals, you'll help ensure children receive the support they need while maintaining high standards of safeguarding and regulatory compliance.

The Role As a Fostering Support Worker, you will:

• Support Kinship Foster Carers and prospective Special Guardians throughout their fostering journey.
• Promote positive outcomes for children by ensuring they remain in safe and stable family environments wherever possible.
• Build positive, professional relationships with carers, children, families and partner agencies.
• Maintain accurate records and complete reports, assessments and documentation within required timescales.
• Contribute to Foster Panels, planning meetings, reviews and case conferences.
• Support carers through assessments and annual reviews.
• Transport, supervise and facilitate family contact where required.
• Escort children and families to appointments, interviews and admissions into care when necessary.
• Work collaboratively with Social Workers and external agencies to ensure the best outcomes for children.
• Ensure all work complies with the National Minimum Standards, Fostering Regulations and relevant legislation.

Essential Qualifications Applicants must hold one of the following (or an equivalent relevant childcare qualification):

• NNEB
• BTEC in Nursery Nursing
• NVQ Level 3 in Childcare and Education
• NVQ Level 3 in Children and Young People
• NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (Children and Young People)
