Locum General Practitioner (GP) – Integrated Urgent Care Service (IUCS) Location: Gloucester
Service: IUCS / Out of Hours (OOH) / NHS Services
Role Overview
We are seeking experienced General Practitioners to support Urgent Care Services in Gloucester. This role involves delivering high-quality urgent care across a variety of settings, including Clinical Assessment Service (CAS), base clinics, and home visiting services (with driver provided).
Shifts are available across evenings, nights, weekends, and early shifts, offering flexibility for locum GPs with urgent care experience.
Standard Pay Rate:
£86 LTD p.h (via Deemed Payments - Tax deducted at source)
£75 PAYE Inclusive p.h (Via Umbrella)
Out of Hours Pay Rate:
£94 LTD p.h (via Deemed Payments - Tax deducted at source)
£82 PAYE Inclusive p.h (Via Umbrella)
Shifts:
Various shifts covering 24hr/7 day weeks.
Day, Evening and Night Shifts.

Services:
- CAS
- Visits
- Urgent Care
- Provide safe, effective, and timely clinical care to patients presenting with urgent and unscheduled health needs
- Undertake remote clinical assessments within the Clinical Assessment Service (CAS), where approved
- Deliver face-to-face consultations in base settings and conduct home visits where required (driver provided)
- Assess, diagnose, and manage a wide range of acute and urgent medical presentations
- Prescribe medications and initiate treatment plans in line with NICE and local guidelines
- Refer patients appropriately to secondary care or other services when clinically indicated
- Maintain accurate, timely, and comprehensive clinical records using approved systems
- Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to ensure continuity and quality of care
- Adhere to clinical governance, safeguarding, and professional standards at all times
Essential Requirements
- GMC-registered
- Proven urgent care / OOH experience
- PACCS training completed - mandatory for CAS shifts (GPs without PACCS may be approved for non-CAS shifts only)
- Strong clinical decision-making, communication, and documentation skills
