Get Safe Link Worker
Children’s Social Care & Safeguarding – Get Safe Team
Location: Worcestershire

Are you passionate about supporting vulnerable young people to stay safe and thrive?
We’re looking for a dedicated Get Safe Link Worker to join Worcestershire County Council’s Get Safe Team. You’ll play a vital role in protecting children and young people at risk of criminal exploitation, while helping voluntary sector youth workers develop the skills and confidence they need to support those most at risk.

What you’ll do
  • Provide intensive, proactive support to young people who are at risk of, or have been criminally exploited.

  • Equip and mentor youth workers so they can identify risk, make referrals, and deliver safe, effective interventions.

  • Help remove barriers to engagement, build trust, and support young people towards positive futures.

  • Strengthen partnerships with families, schools, social care, health, and community organisations.

  • Share intelligence, map activity tackling exploitation, and contribute to a county-wide response to Child Criminal Exploitation (CCE).

  • Keep clear, accurate records and contribute to monitoring and evaluation of outcomes.

About you We’re looking for someone with:

  • Significant experience supporting vulnerable young people with complex needs, especially those at risk of exploitation.

  • A strong understanding of child protection, the Children Acts, contextual safeguarding, and harm reduction approaches.

  • Experience delivering risk assessments, support planning, and multi-agency working.

  • Excellent communication, relationship-building and motivational skills – with young people and professionals alike.

  • The resilience, creativity, and persistence needed to engage hard-to-reach young people.

  • A Level 5 qualification (or equivalent experience) in a relevant discipline, plus Maths and English at Level 2.

  • A commitment to anti-discriminatory practice and continuous professional development.

You’ll also need to be able to travel across Worcestershire (including evenings, weekends, and school holidays as needed).

Why join us? This is a chance to make a real difference for young people while supporting and shaping the work of dedicated youth workers across the county. You’ll be part of a skilled, supportive team tackling exploitation and helping children build safer, brighter futures.
