GP Administrator - Contract Position in Westminster

About the GP Administrator Role

The GP Administrator position is a short-term contract lasting approximately two weeks, from 27th February to 14th March. The ideal candidate will have prior experience working within a clinical or healthcare setting, with strong administrative capabilities. This role is perfect for someone confident in managing patient-facing administration, working during evenings and weekends, and proficient with IT systems, preferably SystmOne.

Candidate Responsibilities

As a GP Administrator, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Acting as the first point of contact for patients, both face-to-face and via telephone
  • Booking, amending, and cancelling appointments
  • Registering new patients and updating demographic details
  • Managing clinic lists and ensuring accurate patient flow
  • Using SystmOne to access and update patient records
  • Processing correspondence, scanning, and filingDocumentation
  • Supporting clinicians with administrative tasks during clinics
  • Ensuring confidentiality and data protection standards are maintained
  • Handling general enquiries professionally and courteously
Essential Skills and Requirements

  • Previous experience working within a GP surgery, clinic, or healthcare environment
  • Strong administrative and organisational skills
  • Confident communication skills and a professional manner
  • Ability to work independently during evening and weekend shifts
  • IT proficiency, especially in clinical software (SystmOne highly desirable)
