The Grounds Maintenance Operative/Driver will be responsible for operating tractors and associated machinery, performing grounds maintenance tasks, and supporting winter services as needed. Candidate Responsibilities
As a Grounds Maintenance Operative/Driver, your key responsibilities will include:
- Operating tractors and attachments such as mowers, trailers, snow ploughs, and gritters to support council services.
- Carrying out grounds maintenance activities including grass cutting, hedge trimming, and verge management.
- Assisting with winter maintenance tasks, including leaf clearance.
- Transporting materials, equipment, and waste using council vehicles.
- Performing routine checks, cleaning, and minor maintenance of machinery.
- Ensuring health and safety regulations and council policies are adhered to at all times.
- Collaborating with other council teams to deliver a high standard of public service.
- Providing excellent customer service when interacting with residents and visitors.
- £12.85 per hour PAYE (including holiday entitlement) or £15.96 per hour via Umbrella Ltd.

- Proven experience in operating tractors and related machinery.

- Strong awareness of health and safety practices.
- Good communication and team-working skills.
