Job Overview:
We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate High Needs SEN Teaching Assistant to support children with complex special educational needs. This rewarding role involves working closely with pupils who require additional support to access learning, develop social skills, and achieve their full potential in a supportive school environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with high needs SEN.
- Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored learning activities.
- Support pupils with communication, emotional regulation, and behaviour management.
- Implement and follow Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and individual support strategies.
- Encourage independence, confidence, and engagement in learning.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and other support staff.
- Help create a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment.
- Experience working with children or young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN), particularly high needs or complex needs.
- Understanding of autism, ADHD, learning disabilities, or behavioural needs is desirable.
- Patience, empathy, and strong communication skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
- Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant or equivalent) are beneficial but not essential with relevant experience.
