Housing Disrepair Lawyer

Service Care Solutions are currently working alongside a well-established Local Authority in Greater Manchester who are seeking an experienced Qualified Solicitor or CILEX Lawyer with Litigation Rights to join their Legal Services team on a contract basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced litigation professional with a strong background in Housing Disrepair to manage a varied caseload within a supportive and collaborative legal team. The authority offers hybrid working, with the potential for the role to be fully remote for the right candidate.

Location: Greater Manchester (Hybrid Working – Potentially Fully Remote)
Contract Length: 3 Months Ongoing
Rate: £50.00 - £55.00 per hour Umbrella
PAYE (Inclusive of Holiday Pay): £44.06 - £48.41 per hour

Responsibilities as a Litigation Lawyer:

• Manage a full caseload of Housing Disrepair claims from inception through to conclusion.
• Conduct litigation on behalf of the Local Authority, including drafting pleadings, witness statements and court documents.
• Advise officers and senior stakeholders on legal risks and case strategy.
• Liaise with counsel, courts, experts and external parties where required.
• Work effectively under pressure and manage competing priorities to meet court deadlines.

About you as a Litigation Lawyer:

• Qualified Solicitor, Fellow of CILEX (with Litigation Rights), or Barrister with a current practising certificate.
• Experience handling Housing Disrepair litigation within a Local Authority or private practice environment.
• Confident managing a caseload independently from pre-action through to trial.
