Service Care Legal are recruiting on behalf of a leading housing association for a qualified Solicitor or Barrister to join their in-house legal team. The role focuses on providing legal advice and managing litigation relating to housing management and landlord and tenant law.
ROLE: Housing Litigation Lawyer
RATE: £45.00ph umbrella / £39.78ph PAYE inc. holiday pay / £35.50ph PAYE exc. Holiday pay
LOCATION: Central London
CONTRACT: 3 months with possibility of extension
Please note that this will require office attendance 3 days per week.

Key Responsibilities:
- Advise on routine and complex housing and tenancy matters.
- Conduct litigation on ASB injunctions, possession claims, tenancy fraud, disrepair claims, EPA prosecutions, and more.
- Draft legal pleadings, notices, witness statements, and court bundles.
- Undertake advocacy or instruct Counsel as required.
- Support and mentor junior legal staff.
- Assist with external solicitor instruction and development of legal processes.
- Provide occasional out-of-hours witness support.
The Person
- Qualified solicitor (current Law Society Practising Certificate) or barrister (with litigation rights).
- Strong knowledge of housing and landlord & tenant law.
- Litigation experience with solid legal drafting skills.
- Experience advising housing providers or public bodies.
- Familiarity with First Tier Tribunal and contentious property matters.
- Experience mentoring junior colleagues or improving legal processes.
