Housing Litigation Lawyer

Service Care Solutions is working with a local authority in Stockport to recruit an experienced Housing Litigation Lawyer to join their established and growing Legal Services team on a permanent basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced litigator to join a supportive and collaborative local authority legal team, handling a varied caseload predominantly focused on housing disrepair, with opportunities to develop experience across wider housing-related matters.

Location: Stockport – Hybrid Working
Salary: £45,091 – £51,356 per annum + additional benefits and pay award pending
Hours: 37 hours per week
Contract: Permanent
Working Pattern: Hybrid – minimum of 2 days per week in the office
Interview Type: In person

Responsibilities as a Housing Litigation Lawyer:

• As a Housing Litigation Lawyer, you will provide high-quality legal advice and representation across a varied housing caseload.
• Work will predominantly involve housing disrepair litigation, with scope to develop your expertise in areas including: Housing disrepair claims and litigation, General housing-related legal advice, Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB), Homelessness, Housing allocations, Advocacy and representation, Advising internal council departments and stakeholders.
• Managing a busy and varied caseload from instruction through to resolution

About you as a Housing Litigation Lawyer:

• A minimum of 5 years' PQE
• A current practising certificate
• Qualification as a Solicitor, Barrister, or Fellow of CILEX with litigation rights
• Strong experience in litigation and advocacy
• Experience of housing litigation, particularly housing disrepair, is desirable
• Excellent analytical, communication and problem-solving skills
• The ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively under pressure
• A collaborative and positive approach to working
