Housing Officer – South East London (3-Month Contract)
Rate: starting at £24.80 per hour LTD
Location: South East London
Contract Length: 3 months
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Housing Officer to join our client’s team in South East London on a temporary 3-month contract. This is an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact within the community, supporting residents and ensuring high-quality housing management services are delivered.
What’s the role about?
As a Housing Officer, you will take ownership of your schemes, ensuring that essential services such as repairs, cleaning, and grounds maintenance are delivered to the highest standard. You will be the first point of contact for residents, listening to their concerns, resolving issues, and proactively improving the overall resident experience.
Key Responsibilities

• Actively engage with residents, addressing property or tenancy concerns quickly and effectively.
• Maintain a strong presence across schemes, ensuring you are visible and contactable.
• Collaborate with residents, contractors, and colleagues to resolve issues, taking ownership until completion.
• Manage and monitor service charges, setting fair budgets and clearly communicating these with residents.
• Conduct estate inspections, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.
• Investigate and resolve ASB cases, disputes, and complaints in a professional and transparent manner.
• Work alongside internal teams and managing agents to ensure high standards of service delivery.
• Promote resident engagement through forums, meetings, and community events.

About You
To succeed in this role, you will need to demonstrate:

• Strong customer service knowledge, ideally within a housing setting.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
• Confidence in managing service charges and financial processes.
• Ability to investigate, document, and resolve issues such as ASB.
• IT proficiency and attention to detail.
• Previous housing experience (desirable).
