Job Title: Housing Officer

Rate: £25.70 per hour (LTD)
Contract: Temporary – 14 weeks
Hours: Full-time (37 hours per week)
We are currently working on behalf of a local authority client to recruit an experienced Housing Officer on a temporary 14-week contract.
This is a frontline housing management role, managing a defined patch of council tenants and leaseholders and delivering a comprehensive, customer-focused housing service across a range of tenancy management areas.
🔹 Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver a full housing management service to tenants and leaseholders
• Manage tenancy-related issues including rent arrears, breaches of tenancy, and anti-social behaviour
• Carry out home visits and estate inspections as required
• Respond to customer enquiries, complaints and correspondence within agreed timescales
• Take appropriate enforcement action, including working with legal services where required
• Manage void properties including sign-ups, viewings and liaison with repairs teams
• Monitor estate services such as caretaking, grounds maintenance and cleaning
• Provide advice on tenancy matters including successions, mutual exchanges, transfers and disrepair
• Work closely with internal teams and external partner agencies to resolve issues
• Maintain accurate records on housing management systems

🔹 Essential Requirements:

• Proven experience working as a Housing Officer or similar housing management role
• Strong knowledge of housing legislation and tenancy management
• Experience dealing with ASB, rent arrears and estate management issues
• Confident carrying out home visits and managing a patch independently
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, pressured environment
