A client within the Public Sector based in Wrexham is currently recruiting for a Housing Repairs Manager to join their Housing & Assets team as soon as possible. The client is offering a full-time, temporary position on an ongoing basis with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority within a housing or property services environment.
The Role
Key purpose of the role is to be responsible for the delivery of a range of services under the Property Service portfolio, including leading the day-to-day effectiveness of Housing Repairs, the DLO repairs operation and servicing/cyclical works. This includes continually improving efficiency, productivity and optimising resources to meet fluctuating service demands.
The post will provide operational and strategic support to lead officers in managing housing operations, DLO management and external contracts, while also supporting wider strategic initiatives across the department.
Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
• Manage day-to-day operations of DLO and external contracts
• Lead the delivery and performance of Housing Repairs, ensuring effective resource allocation
• Support specialist programmes including cyclical painting, domestic servicing, specialist maintenance, housing disrepair and damp, HAVS management, and out-of-hours response
• Collaborate with internal teams to review performance and streamline processes
• Work closely with Voids & Decarbonisation Lead and Investment & Delivery Lead
The Candidate
To be considered for this role you will require:
• Proven experience in housing operations or contract management
• Strong organisational and communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively across teams and departments
The below skills would be beneficial for the role:
• Experience with Direct Labour Organisation (DLO) operations
• Knowledge of housing compliance and legislative frameworks
• Experience supporting strategic projects within a local authority
The client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such are offering £29 per hour Umbrella LTD Inside IR35 (approx. £23 per hour PAYE).
