Support Workers – Children and Young People Plymouth
Temporary-to-Permanent Opportunities
30 hours per week: £22,196 per annum, pro rata
27.5 hours per week: £20,346 per annum, pro rata
Based on a full-time salary of £27,375 for 37 hours per week.
We are currently recruiting reliable and experienced Support Workers for temporary-to-permanent opportunities in Plymouth.
The main focus of these roles is safeguarding and supporting children and young people. We are looking for dependable individuals who understand the responsibilities involved in working with vulnerable young people and can provide safe, consistent and professional support.
Reliability is essential. Successful applicants must be able to commit fully to a four-week rolling rota and work a mixture of early, late and weekend shifts.

- Weekday shifts: 9:00am to 5:00pm
- Weekday late shifts: 1:00pm to 9:00pm
- Weekend shifts: 11:00am to 9:00pm
Key Responsibilities
- Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
- Providing practical and emotional support
- Building positive and professional relationships with young people
- Supporting young people with routines, activities and personal development
- Identifying and reporting safeguarding concerns appropriately
- Maintaining accurate records, reports and support notes
- Following support plans, risk assessments and organisational procedures
- Working effectively with colleagues, families and external professionals
- Providing consistent support as part of the four-week rolling rota
- Previous experience supporting children, young people or vulnerable individuals
- A strong understanding of safeguarding responsibilities
- A reliable, punctual and committed approach
- Ability to manage challenging or sensitive situations calmly
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to maintain appropriate professional boundaries
- Flexibility to work early, late and weekend shifts
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
