Housing Worker – Exeter
Location: Exeter
Contract: 12-Week Temporary Contract
Rate: £16.34 per hour LTD
Hours: Full-Time

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Housing Worker to join a housing service in Exeter on an initial 12-week temporary contract.
The role will involve providing day-to-day housing management and housing-related support to customers, helping them maintain their accommodation while ensuring the safe and effective running of the service. You will also support the management of rent arrears, voids and tenancy/licence agreements.
Key Responsibilities

• Deliver day-to-day housing management and intensive housing management services
• Support customers to maintain their tenancy or licence and successfully move on where appropriate
• Manage rent accounts and arrears, helping to maximise rental and service charge income
• Support with voids, allocations and waiting lists
• Carry out customer inductions and explain tenancy/licence responsibilities
• Complete property, pre-void and void inspections
• Raise repairs and monitor contractor performance
• Respond appropriately to safeguarding, welfare and risk concerns
• Liaise with external agencies and other professionals to support customers
• Maintain accurate housing and case management records
• Support customers experiencing neighbourhood nuisance, disputes and anti-social behaviour
• Carry out relevant health and safety checks

Candidate Requirements
We are looking for candidates with previous experience within housing management, supported housing, homelessness or a similar housing-related environment.
Ideally, you will have experience of:

• Rent arrears and rent account management
• Voids and allocations
• Tenancy or licence management
• Working with vulnerable customers
• Safeguarding and risk assessments
• Lone working
• Partnership working and referrals
• Housing or case management systems
• Dealing with ASB, neighbourhood disputes or tenancy issues

You will need strong communication and customer service skills and must be able to travel as required, either using a vehicle or public transport.
