Service Care Solutions are currently looking for experienced former Police Officers to work as Investigative Officers on Operation Bermuda.
This is a PIP2 role, meaning applicants must be PIP2 accredited in order to be considered.
This is a long-term contract, and is for either 30 or 24 hours per week.
The role is paying £19.19p per hour (PAYE)
Job purposeTo manage and participate in serious and complex investigations, carrying out evidence-gathering activity to ensure evidence is obtained, recorded, secured, and preserved appropriately. The postholder will conduct interviews and support wider investigations as directed by supervision.

Duties/responsibilities:
- Provide an investigative response to incidents and received intelligence.
- Secure, preserve, and gather evidence to prove/disprove information and establish facts.
- Conduct criminal and/or misconduct interviews (victims, witnesses, and suspects) in line with relevant legislation and procedure.
- Take responsibility for managing caseload and progressing enquiries as officer-in-case where required.
- Compile investigation reports and complete case files to the required standard and timescales.
- Present evidence as required (e.g., to CPS and in court / hearings).
- Liaise with members of the public by phone, in person, and in writing; obtain complaint details and provide updates where appropriate.
- Use internal IT systems and policing databases to research, record, and maintain accurate investigation records.
- Provide advice, guidance, and support to colleagues regarding allegations, complaints, and investigations.
- Support victims and witnesses and assess support needs throughout the criminal justice process.
- Provide cover as required within the normal place of work and across the county.
- PIP2 accredited (essential).
- Experience conducting serious and complex investigations (proactive and reactive).
- Strong knowledge of the Criminal Justice System and relevant legislation/procedure (including PACE and disclosure/CPIA principles).
- Proven experience interviewing victims, significant witnesses, and suspects, and gathering evidential material.
- Experience producing high-quality case files and investigation reports.
- Confident using police IT systems/databases and maintaining accurate records.
- Ability to manage workload effectively and work with minimal supervision.
- Full UK manual driving licence and willingness to travel for operational requirements (where required).
- Willingness to undertake vetting appropriate to the role.
