Overview of the role
A Central London Local Authority is currently recruiting for two experienced Investment Surveyors to join their Temporary Accommodation Acquisitions Team within the Housing Directorate.
The team is responsible for securing residential accommodation from the private sector for use as temporary housing. This role will focus on sourcing suitable properties, negotiating acquisition or lease agreements, and managing the due diligence process to support the council’s housing objectives.
The position operates on a hybrid basis, with a mixture of office/home working and site inspections across London.

Responsibilities
- Acquisition and leasing of private sector residential properties, including individual units and larger residential blocks
- Sourcing suitable accommodation stock in the private sector market
- Negotiating acquisition and lease terms with property owners and agents
- Managing pre-purchase due diligence processes
- Preparing reports and documentation in line with internal governance requirements
- Conducting property and site inspections as part of the acquisition process
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in residential or commercial property transactions
- Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Good numeracy and proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Windows systems
- RICS qualification preferred, although candidates with strong residential sales or lettings experience will also be considered
