You will be responsible for delivering engaging lessons to a Year 1 or Year 2 class, supporting pupils in developing strong foundations in literacy, numeracy, and social skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver high-quality lessons in line with the KS1 National Curriculum
- Use effective phonics strategies to support early reading development
- Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all pupils, including SEN and EAL
- Assess, monitor, and track pupil progress
- Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment
- Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and staff
- Communicate effectively with parents and carers
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Experience teaching within KS1 (EYFS experience also desirable)
- Strong understanding of phonics (e.g. Read Write Inc, Letters and Sounds)
- Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
- A nurturing and patient approach to teaching
