Join Birmingham Children’s Trust as a Personal Advisor – 18 Care Leavers Service Location: Birmingham
Grade: GR4
Reporting to: Team Manager

Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of young people? Birmingham Children’s Trust is looking for a dedicated Personal Advisor to support care leavers aged 18–25 as they transition into independent adulthood.

The Role As a Personal Advisor, you will:

  • Provide statutory social work services to eligible care leavers, ensuring all legal requirements are met.
  • Manage a caseload of young people, supporting them to prepare for independent living.
  • Coordinate and deliver pathway plans, liaising with social workers, carers, and other agencies.
  • Offer tailored advice and guidance on housing, education, employment, and life skills.
  • Champion a holistic approach that promotes self-esteem, resilience, and positive achievement.
  • Contribute to service development, evaluation, and inter-agency initiatives.
This role involves flexibility and commitment, including participation in duty services and working closely with young people at key stages of their transition to adulthood.

  • Have experience in social work, aftercare, or related fields.
  • Demonstrate strong communication, assessment, and case management skills.
