Service Care Solutions is recruiting for a Lived Experience Consultant to join an innovative charity dedicated to transforming the justice system through the power of lived experience.
This is a unique opportunity for someone with personal experience of the criminal justice system to use their insight to influence real change across prisons, probation, and community settings.
About the Role
You will lead and support peer research and consultation projects involving adults, young adults, and children. Working across London prisons, IRCs, and community services, you’ll engage directly with service users to gather insights that shape policy and improve systems.

- Delivering research projects, consultations, and engagement activities
- Facilitating interviews, focus groups, and surveys
- Recruiting, training, and supporting volunteers and participants
- Liaising with prisons, probation, NHS, and partner organisations
- Supporting project planning, delivery, and reporting
This is a front-line, field-based role with regular travel (fully covered).
About You
To be successful, you must have:
- Lived experience of prison or probation
- Strong communication skills and ability to engage diverse groups
- Experience delivering engagement activities (e.g. interviews, group work)
- Experience supporting or training individuals or groups
- Good organisational and IT skills
