About the Role:
Cheshire Police is seeking a Logistics Assistant to join service on a contract basis. In this position to post holder will play a vital role in keeping operations running smoothly. From delivering mail and stores to handling sensitive property and forensic items, you'll ensure everything is moved, stored, and recorded with accuracy, confidentiality, and care.

From delivering mail and stores to handling sensitive property and forensic items, you'll ensure everything is moved, stored, and recorded with accuracy, confidentiality, and care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver and collect mail, parcels, and stores across police sites.
- Sort, frank, and record post (including special deliveries/couriers).
- Safely handle and move property (inc. cash, drugs, and firearms) within risk-managed processes.
- Maintain accurate audit trails using systems like Niche and Locard.
- Complete vehicle checks, keeping vans safe, clean, and roadworthy.
- Support stores work – stock checks, goods receipt, and fittings for staff/equipment.
- Occasionally attend court to provide evidence on item movements.
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Level 2 education (or equivalent experience).
- Full, valid UK driving licence.
- Willing to complete forklift training (within 3 months).
- Knowledge of postal/logistics processes.
- Excellent customer service skills with high attention to detail.
- IT literate with good admin ability.
