A client within the Public Sector based in County is currently recruiting for a Mechanical and Electrical Surveyor to join their Facilities Management team as soon as possible. The client is offering a full-time, temporary position on an ongoing basis, with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority within a building compliance or property services environment.
The Role
The key purpose of the role is to provide technical expertise and co-ordination in the design, management, and proper implementation of mechanical and electrical systems, ensuring delivery in line with legislation and in-house compliance requirements.
Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
• Providing advice, interpreting policies and procedures relating to the use, maintenance, and alteration of M&E systems.
• Liaising with client departments to clarify specifications, prepare briefs, drawings, and work schedules.
• Co-ordinating procurement processes and preparing tender documentation.
• Overseeing and signing off works to ensure delivery within cost, quality, and time requirements.
• Undertaking building and technical system surveys, identifying defects, and recommending remedial works.
• Carrying out contract administration including verification of works and payments.
• Monitoring performance indicators with particular focus on health and safety.
• Ensuring accurate asset data collection, reporting, and record keeping.
The Candidate
To be considered for this role you will require:
• Degree or equivalent qualification in a construction-related discipline.
• Relevant professional qualification relating to mechanical and electrical systems (e.g. construction management).
• Membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).
The below skills would be beneficial for the role:
• Knowledge of contract and project management techniques, including cost and quality control.
• Strong understanding of health and safety legislation relating to construction and maintenance.
• Experience in managing contractors, budgets, and mechanical/electrical projects across multiple sites.
The client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such is offering £28 per hour Umbrella LTD Inside IR35 (approx. £22 per hour PAYE).
