Maintenance Operative

We are recruiting for an experienced Labourer or Maintenance Operative to join a social housing maintenance team covering Ashford and surrounding areas in Kent. This is a temp to perm position carrying out basic repairs, maintenance, and external grass cutting / strimming. You will be working within occupied and void residential properties. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality workmanship while maintaining excellent customer service standards.


Key Responsibilities

• Carrying out basic carpentry repairs, including adjusting or repairing doors, locks, handles, hinges, skirting boards and kitchen units.
• Completing minor maintenance and general repair work within occupied and void social housing properties.
• Undertaking basic patch repairs and making good following maintenance work.
• Cutting grass and using strimmers to maintain gardens, communal areas and external spaces.
• Clearing garden waste, debris and unwanted materials from properties.
• Assisting skilled tradespeople with larger repair and refurbishment works when required.

Requirements
 

• Previous experience working within repair and maintenance
• Previous experience working with the general public
• Ability to carry out basic domestic repairs.

Salary & Benefits
 

• £17.09 Ltd per hour (PAYE equivalent is £14.66)
• 12 Weeks Temp – Perm  
• Overtime available
• 40 hours per week
