Multi Trade Operatives 

Location: Islington
Pay: £24.54 per hour Umbrella
Hours: 8 hours per day, Monday to Friday
Contract: Temporary, with the opportunity to go permanent
Benefits: Company van provided

We are recruiting experienced Multi Trade Operatives with either a carpentry or plumbing background to work across occupied and void social housing properties in Islington.

Key Responsibilities

• Complete responsive repairs, planned maintenance, void works and property MOTs
• Carry out high-quality carpentry or plumbing work alongside secondary trade repairs
• Diagnose faults and complete repairs correctly on the first visit wherever possible
• Attend scheduled appointments and communicate professionally with tenants
• Record completed work, materials and follow-on requirements accurately using a PDA
• Order specialist materials while minimising waste
• Inspect completed work and ensure it meets the required standard
• Maintain company tools, equipment, materials and vehicle
• Complete risk assessments and follow all health and safety procedures
• Support and supervise apprentices when required

Requirements

• Strong experience within carpentry, plumbing or multi-trade maintenance
• Competence in additional secondary trades
• Previous social housing or occupied property experience preferred
• Full UK driving licence
• Good customer service and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and manage a daily workload
• Interested in progressing from a temporary to permanent position
