Salary: £32,315 per annum
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Multi Trade Repairs & Maintenance Operative to join a busy repairs and maintenance team in Thamesmead. This is a permanent full-time role offering stability and excellent earning potential for a skilled multi-trade professional.
About the Role
You will be responsible for delivering high quality repairs and maintenance works across housing stock, ensuring a “right first time” approach and excellent customer service.
Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering high quality general repairs across properties
- Completing multi trade works including:
- Tiling
- Painting & decorating
- Plaster patching
- Carpentry
- Glazing
- Minor plumbing
- Metalwork, fencing, paving and general maintenance
- Proactively identifying reactive and planned repairs
- Maintaining tools, plant and company vehicles
- Supporting quality assurance checks with officers and tenant inspectors
- Assisting with insurance claim reports where required
- Ensuring full compliance with Health & Safety, Equal Opportunities and Customer Care policies
- Completing safety roles such as Fire Warden or First Aider when required
- Updating electronic job records using handheld devices
- Assessing materials required to ensure best value and minimal waste
- Reporting defects and arranging follow-on works
- Supporting apprentices with on-the-job guidance
- Working collaboratively with internal teams
- Taking ownership of complaint resolution and representing the organisation professionally
Essential:
- Full clean manual UK driving licence
- Strong multi trade skills gained through qualifications and/or extensive experience
- Experience delivering high quality repairs in a customer focused environment
- Ability to plan, schedule and prioritise work effectively
- Competent IT skills and confidence using handheld devices
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Good knowledge of Health & Safety regulations, site safety and COSHH
- Awareness of personal safety and lone working procedures
- Experience working within a Direct Labour Organisation (DLO) environment
