An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Older Persons Neighbourhood Housing Officer to join a leading Housing Association in West Kent, supporting residents in and around the Swanley area to sustain their tenancies and live independently in safe, well-managed homes. THE ROLE
As an Older Persons Neighbourhood Housing Officer, you will manage tenancies across approximately 290 properties, ensuring residents receive excellent housing management support that enables them to live independently for as long as possible.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage tenancies within older persons accommodation, providing tailored housing management and support.
  • Work closely with residents to help them understand and fulfil their tenancy responsibilities.
  • Build and maintain safe, sustainable communities by addressing ASB, safeguarding, and tenancy breaches.
  • Support residents to access adaptations, transfers, or other housing options as needed.
  • Conduct estate inspections, fire safety checks, and ensure compliance with statutory landlord obligations.
  • Liaise with external agencies to support residents with complex needs and vulnerabilities.
  • Promote tenancy sustainment, wellbeing, and community engagement through proactive communication and events.
THE CANDIDATE
The successful candidate will have previous experience in a similar housing management role, ideally supporting older or vulnerable residents. You will be proactive, compassionate, and confident in handling complex tenancy issues with professionalism.
Essential Requirements:
  • Previous experience in tenancy management, housing support, or neighbourhood management.
  • Strong knowledge of current housing legislation and best practice.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-focused approach.
  • Ability to manage a varied caseload and work independently across office, home, and community settings.
  • A full UK driving licence, access to a vehicle with business insurance, and an enhanced DBS check.
THE CONTRACT
Working Hours: 15 hours per week, Monday–Friday
Length of Contract: Permanent
Rate: £14,906.00 part time, FTE £38,037
Location: Hybrid working – office base in Swanley
