Salary: £12.22 per hour (PAYE) / £15.66 per hour (Umbrella)

The Night Care Assistant will support young people during night hours within a residential care environment, ensuring their safety, wellbeing, and comfort. The role involves monitoring, supporting, and responding to the needs of young people with varying disabilities and behavioural needs.

About the Role
The Night Care Assistant will support young people during night hours within a residential care environment, ensuring their safety, wellbeing, and comfort. The role involves monitoring, supporting, and responding to the needs of young people with varying disabilities and behavioural needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide supervision, control, and support to young people throughout the night.
- Maintain a safe and calm environment, responding appropriately to behaviours and needs.
- Assist with nighttime routines and any required personal care.
- Record observations and incidents in line with organisational procedures.
- Work effectively as part of a team to ensure consistent, high-quality care.
- Experience working with young people in a care, support, or educational setting.
- Knowledge of the needs of young people with a range of disabilities, including Autism.
- Understanding of moderate to severe challenging behaviour and appropriate intervention techniques.
- Ability to build positive, supportive relationships with young people.
- Strong communication and de-escalation skills.
- Ability to remain calm and responsive in challenging situations.
- Reliable, observant, and able to work independently during night shifts.
- Willingness to work waking night shifts on a full-time basis.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people.
