This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Occupational Therapist to work as part of a multidisciplinary team, supporting children and young people with a range of additional learning and support needs.
Working full-time during term time, you will provide high-quality occupational therapy assessment, intervention and advice, helping learners develop their independence, participation and functional skills within the educational environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct and indirect occupational therapy support to learners.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff, support teams, families and other professionals.
  • Contribute to multidisciplinary assessments, reviews and care planning.
  • Provide practical advice and strategies to support learners' participation, independence and wellbeing.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of interventions and adapt plans as appropriate.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical records and documentation.
  • Support and advise staff through training and guidance around occupational therapy approaches.
  • Promote a person-centred, strengths-based approach to supporting learners.
  • Ensure all practice is delivered in line with professional standards, safeguarding requirements and organisational policies.
About You
The successful candidate will be a qualified Occupational Therapist with relevant professional registration and experience working with children and/or young people.

You will ideally have:
  • A recognised Occupational Therapy qualification and current HCPC registration.
  • Experience of working with children or young people with additional needs.
  • Strong assessment, clinical reasoning and intervention skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • A flexible, proactive and solution-focused approach.
  • A commitment to promoting independence, inclusion and positive outcomes for learners.
  • Strong organisational and record-keeping skills.
Experience within an educational, specialist education, paediatric or similar setting would be advantageous.
What We Offer
  • A rewarding role supporting children and young people to achieve their potential.
  • The opportunity to work within a collaborative and supportive multidisciplinary environment.
  • A full-time term-time working pattern.
  • A fixed-term maternity cover contract from October 2026 to October 2027.
  • A competitive salary of £37,602 – £45,426 per annum.
