Paediatric Occupational Therapist Team Lead
Location: Hillingdon
Contract: Permanent
Salary: Up to £40,250 per annum
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Service Care Solutions are recruiting for an experienced and dedicated Paediatric Occupational Therapist Team Lead to join a specialist service supporting children and young people in Hillingdon. This is an exciting opportunity for an HCPC and RCOT registered Occupational Therapist who is passionate about delivering high-quality, neuro-affirming care and achieving positive outcomes for children, young people, and their families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and plan the occupational therapy needs of children and young people aged 0-18 years.
  • Undertake assessments using standardised and non-standardised assessment tools.
  • Produce comprehensive, accurate, and detailed reports in line with neuro-affirming practices.
  • Deliver appropriate interventions through individual, group, and school-based sessions using a three-tier model of support.
  • Identify and review outcomes to guide treatment planning and intervention pathways.
  • Evaluate treatment outcomes regularly to ensure a person-centred approach.
  • Attend case discussions, family meetings, school meetings, and EHCP reviews where required.
  • Provide advice, guidance, and practical support to parents, carers, schools, and other professionals.
  • Advocate for children and families, making onward referrals where appropriate.
  • Manage discharge planning and communicate effectively with families and professionals throughout the therapeutic process.
  • Maintain responsibility for a defined caseload.
  • Supervise assistants, junior therapists, and students.
  • Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and with external agencies.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical records, including SOAP notes, therapy programmes, and progress reviews.
  • Deliver training and share specialist knowledge with external agencies and professionals.
Professional Development and Governance
  • Adhere to safeguarding, health and safety, confidentiality, GDPR, and data protection requirements.
  • Participate in supervision, performance management, and professional development activities.
  • Maintain a comprehensive CPD portfolio in line with HCPC standards.
  • Keep up to date with relevant legislation, clinical developments, and professional guidance.
  • Work in accordance with HCPC and RCOT standards and within scope of practice.
  • Promote inclusive and neuro-affirming approaches to communication, assessment, and goal setting.
  • Contribute to service development, team projects, and quality improvement initiatives.
Requirements
  • Undergraduate or Postgraduate Degree in Occupational Therapy.
  • Current HCPC registration.
  • Current RCOT membership.
  • Experience working within paediatric occupational therapy services.
  • Excellent assessment, intervention, and report-writing skills.
  • Strong understanding of neurodevelopmental needs and neuro-affirming practice.
  • Ability to manage a caseload independently while working effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and delivering high-quality care for children and young people.
