Support independence. Change lives. We are looking for a compassionate and motivated Occupational Therapy Assistant to join the London Borough of Haringey in their Adult Social Services team. This is a rewarding frontline role where you will support adults with physical disabilities to live safely, independently and with dignity in their own homes and communities.
Working under the supervision of a qualified Occupational Therapist, you will carry out assessments, recommend equipment and adaptations, and provide practical advice and support that makes a real difference to people’s everyday lives.

About the role As an Occupational Therapy Assistant, you will:
  • Assess the functional abilities, strengths and needs of adults with physical disabilities
  • Support service users to set person-centred goals that promote independence and wellbeing
  • Assess for and recommend equipment and minor/major home adaptations to reduce risk and improve daily living
  • Carry out carers’ assessments and reviews, recognising and supporting the needs of informal carers
  • Provide advice, guidance and practical support using strengths-based and evidence-informed approaches
  • Identify safeguarding concerns, complete basic risk assessments and refer appropriately
  • Maintain accurate, timely case records using council IT systems (including Mosaic)
  • Manage your own caseload effectively, prioritising work to meet service targets
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and partner agencies including health, housing and voluntary services
About you You will have:
  • Experience working with people with disabilities (paid or unpaid)
  • A good understanding of how disability impacts individuals and their independence
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive professional relationships
  • The ability to work independently, manage your workload and meet deadlines
  • Good IT skills and confidence with case recording systems
  • A commitment to equal opportunities, safeguarding and person-centred practice
A driving licence and the ability to speak an additional community language are desirable but not essential.
