Painter & Decorator – Responsive Repairs

Salary: £32,750 per annum
Location: Redhill and surrounding areas
Contract: Permanent
Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Vehicle: Company van provided
DBS: Basic DBS required

We are recruiting for an experienced Painter and Decorator to join an established housing provider’s Responsive Repairs Team.
The position involves completing high-quality painting, decorating and associated repair work across occupied social housing properties throughout Redhill and the surrounding region.
Key Responsibilities

• Complete internal and external painting and decorating work
• Prepare new and existing surfaces to achieve a professional finish
• Carry out property inspections and assess the work required
• Identify issues including damp and mould and determine the appropriate solution
• Communicate clearly with residents throughout each appointment
• Minimise repeat visits by completing repairs effectively
• Receive and update jobs using mobile technology
• Follow risk assessments, COSHH requirements and safe working procedures
• Deliver excellent customer service within occupied homes

Requirements

• City & Guilds Level 2, NVQ Level 2 or equivalent experience in Painting and Decorating
• Previous responsive repairs, social housing or domestic maintenance experience
• Strong surface-preparation and finishing skills
• Ability to diagnose repairs and select suitable materials
• Confident working within occupied properties
• Good communication and customer-service skills
• Full UK driving licence
• Willingness to complete a Basic DBS check
