Location: Stoke
Service: Children and Families Service – Safeguarding and Quality Assurance
Contract: Full-Time, Ongoing

? About the Role An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Partnership and Planning Assistant to join the Children and Families Service within the Safeguarding and Quality Assurance team.

This is a key role providing vital support to strategic partnerships and helping to drive effective planning, research, and governance across the Directorate. You’ll play an important part in improving outcomes for children, young people, and families by ensuring smooth coordination, accurate data analysis, and excellent communication between partners.

? Main Responsibilities
  • Provide high-level administrative and project support to strategic partnerships and planning structures, including meeting management, agendas, minutes, and progress tracking.

  • Maintain effective communication frameworks, producing e-bulletins, newsletters, and partner updates.

  • Handle confidential communications with professionalism, ensuring compliance with data protection and information governance policies.

  • Undertake research, data collection, and analysis to support monitoring, performance reports, and strategic planning.

  • Contribute to the development of strategies and policy, including consultation and engagement events with stakeholders.

  • Maintain and develop web content and online systems for the Directorate and its partnerships.

  • Support inspections and external peer reviews, coordinating documentation and ensuring smooth delivery.

  • Assist with budget monitoring, processing invoices, and ordering supplies.

  • Provide effective project support, helping to monitor progress and outcomes against key priorities.

? About You We’re looking for a highly organised, proactive, and professional individual with experience supporting strategic or partnership-based work — ideally within children’s services, local government, or another people-focused environment.

You’ll bring:

  • Strong experience in minute taking, meeting coordination, and report writing.

  • Excellent IT skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and confidence with digital systems and databases.

  • Proven ability to analyse and present data clearly and accurately.

  • Understanding of multi-agency working, data protection, and governance frameworks.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across a range of partners.

  • A flexible, “can-do” attitude and a commitment to producing high-quality work.

? Why Join Us? This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a supportive and passionate team dedicated to improving services for children and families. You’ll gain exposure to high-level strategic work, develop your skills in planning and research, and make a real contribution to shaping service delivery.
